Peshawar Zalmi is a professional T20 cricket franchise from Pakistan which plays in Pakistan Super League PSL cricket league. They are playing the tournament since its first season in 2015 and are also the champions of PSL 3. They represent the capital city of KPK Peshawar and their home ground is Arbab Niaz Stadium.
Many International and National level players play for them. Also many former international cricket players are part of their coaching and management staff. They are also the biggest sports franchise of Pakistan valuing at more than US$40 Million. Their current captain is Wahab Riaz and James Foster is the head coach.

Ownership History
The franchise was bought by Javed Afridi, the owner of Haier, in US$16 million for a time 10 years. It was one of the initial franchises of PSL. Javed Afridi regularly invests good amount in talent hunt programs and regular trials are organized by the franchise.
Team Identity and Sponsors
The team logo and kit was revealed in December 2015 at ceremony held at APS Peshawar. The logo depicts the blend of traditional turban with cricket stumps. Their kit was changed in PSL 4 2019. The primary colors of team are black and yellow. The word Zalmi is a pashto word meaning youth.

PSL 1 2016
Zalmi’s started their campaign well in the first season by winning the first two matches of the tournament before losing the two. They won their remaining 6 matches and qualified for the play-offs. They lost their both matches in that round and got eliminated.
They finished first in the points table with 12 points after winning 6 out of 8 matches in group stage.

PSL 2 2017
Peshawar made some changes before the start of next season, they traded Aamer Yamin for Sohaib Maqsood for Lahore Qalandars. 10 players were retained and many big stars like Eoin Morgan, Chris Jordan, Shakib Al Hasan were added. Peshawar Zalmi qualified for the play-offs after remaining at top of the points table.
They won 4 out of 8 total games and one game rendered no result. They qualified for the play-offs and lost first qualifier from Quetta, then won from Karachi Kings in the eliminator match and qualified for the finals where they again met Quetta Gladiators and beat them by 58 runs to lift the PSL trophy for the first time.

PSL 3 2018
In the first match of this season, they lost to the new team Multan Sultans by 7 wickets. They won their second match against Islamabad United. Peshawar then qualified for the play-offs where they met Quetta and Karachi to reach the finals.
They finished group stage by securing third position in on the points table by winning 5 out of 10 matches. They lost to Islamabad United in the final match and ended the tournament as runner-ups.

PSL 4 2019
Peshawar Zalmi started this season with a loss as they lost to Quetta Gladiators by 6 wickets. They then managed to win majority of the matches and qualified for the play-offs. They were one of the strongest teams of the tournament.
They finished at top of the points table with 14 points as they managed to win 7 out of 10 group matches. In the qualifier match they lost to Quetta Gladiators and faced Islamabad United in the eliminator and won from them. In the final match, they lost to Quetta Gladiators and finished as runner-ups.

PSL 5 2020
In this edition, they lost their first and third match and won second and fourth match from first four matches of the tournament. They were again one of the strong contenders to win PSL trophy this year. They went on to qualify for the play-offs but got eliminated in first play-off match.
Peshawar Zalmi finished fourth on the points table with 9 points and managed to win 4 out of 10 group matches. One match rendered no result.

PSL 6 2021
In this season. Peshawar started with a loss and then won their next three matches to gain the momentum. The finished third on the points table with 10 points as they managed to win 5 out of 10 group matches and the qualified for the play-offs stage.
In the play-offs, they won the both eliminator matches against Karachi Kings and Islamabad United to reach the final against Multan Sultans where they lost by 47 runs.

Peshawar won its first match of the season by beating Quetta Gladiators by 5 wickets and then lost their next two matches to Lahore and Islamabad. They finished third at the points table with 12 points as they managed to win 6 out of 10 group matches and then qualified for the play-offs stage.
They got eliminated in the first play-off match as they lost to Islamabad United by 5 wickets and finished at 4th place in the tournament.
